Website Design
Davie, FL. Serving Fort Lauderdale, Miami, and all of South Florida.
Most small business websites look the same because they're the same. A template picked off a page builder, filled in by someone with no design experience, wrapped in a plugin ecosystem that slows everything down and breaks every few months. You paid for it, you don't love it, and it's not bringing in customers.
That's not what we build.
At Ascend Networks we design and build custom websites from scratch. No WordPress. No Wix. No Squarespace. No drag-and-drop page builder that looks like everyone else. Every site we ship is hand-coded, fast, secure, and built around what your business actually needs customers to do when they land on it.
The reason this matters comes down to two things. The first is speed. Custom-built sites load in under a second because there's no plugin bloat, no bloated theme, no database query running every time a page loads. Google ranks fast sites higher and customers don't wait for slow ones. The second is control. When your site is yours, not rented from a platform, you can change anything, move it anywhere, and never worry about a platform update breaking it overnight.
We build for small businesses across South Florida. Plumbers, contractors, restaurants, real estate, medical offices, service companies, and anyone else whose website should be working harder than it is. Every build includes the foundational SEO that gets you found on Google, mobile-first responsive design, proper analytics, and a contact form that actually delivers leads to your inbox.
If your current site feels generic, is slow, was built on a platform you don't control, or is just not bringing in business, this is the fix.
We've written about why we moved away from WordPress ourselves and what happens when a WordPress site gets attacked. The short version is we got tired of rebuilding things that kept breaking. So we stopped.
What we build
Four site types cover most of what we ship. Each one solves a specific business problem.
Small business marketing sites
Single-location or small-team businesses that need a fast, modern site that ranks on Google and converts visitors into calls or form fills. Most of our work fits here.
Lead-generation sites
Service businesses where the website's job is to bring in leads. Built around clear calls to action, fast form delivery, click-to-call on mobile, and conversion-focused design.
Multi-location and franchise sites
Businesses with multiple locations, service areas, or service-area pages. Built so each location has its own SEO presence without duplicating content or maintenance work.
E-commerce and product sites
Smaller product catalogs, service booking, and online ordering for businesses that need transactions on their site. We handle payment integrations and inventory wiring, not full Shopify replatforms.
What's included in every build
Every website we build includes the foundational pieces a small business actually needs. No upcharges for the basics.
- ·Foundational SEO (titles, metadata, schema markup, sitemap, robots.txt)
- ·Mobile-first responsive design tested on real devices
- ·Fast load times under one second on a modern connection
- ·Contact forms that deliver leads directly to your inbox
- ·Analytics setup with Google Analytics 4
- ·Google Business Profile and Search Console walkthrough
- ·SSL certificate and HTTPS by default
- ·Hosting on modern infrastructure with monthly uptime monitoring
- ·Documentation so you understand what we built and why
What we do not build
We are direct about what we build well and what we do not. If your project falls in the list below, we will tell you so.
- ·WordPress sites. We hand-code, we do not build on WordPress or migrate to WordPress.
- ·Wix, Squarespace, or Webflow sites. Same reason.
- ·Full Shopify replatforms. We integrate payments and small product catalogs, but a full Shopify storefront is a different kind of project.
- ·Sites with hundreds of pages or large content libraries. We focus on small business sites that need quality over quantity.
What happens after launch
A website is not done when it launches. It is done when it has been live for a month, you have seen real traffic, and we have tuned anything that needed tuning. We treat launch as the start of the relationship, not the end.
Every site we build includes a simple monthly hosting and maintenance plan. Hosting, SSL renewal, security updates, monthly check-ins, and small content updates as you need them. No separate hosting bill, no separate maintenance contract, no surprise charges when something needs attention.
If you want to grow rankings actively with monthly content, backlinks, and local citations, that is a separate ongoing SEO service. Not required, available when you want it.
Common questions
How much does a custom website cost?
Most small business websites we build land between $3,500 and $6,500 depending on the number of pages, the amount of custom design work, and whether you need industry-specific features like booking, financing integrations, or location pages. We give you a fixed-price quote after a short discovery call so there are no surprises.
How long does it take to build a website?
A typical small business site takes 3 to 5 weeks from kickoff to launch. More complex projects with custom illustration, multiple location pages, or integrations can run 6 to 8 weeks. We move faster than most agencies because there's no hand-off between design, development, and launch. Same team does all of it.
Do you host the website after launch?
Yes. Every site we build is deployed on modern infrastructure and includes hosting, SSL, backups, security monitoring, and small monthly updates as part of a simple monthly plan. You don't need a separate hosting account, a separate SSL provider, or a separate maintenance service.
Will I own my website?
Yes. You own the domain, you own the content, and we hand over the codebase if you ever decide to move. Unlike WordPress sites locked into a theme or page-builder sites locked into a platform, your site is yours.
Do you do SEO?
Foundational SEO is included in every build. That means proper metadata, schema markup, fast load times, and mobile optimization. We also walk you through setting up your Google Business Profile and Search Console since those require you to verify ownership yourself. Ongoing SEO like monthly content, backlinks, and local citations is a separate service we offer for businesses that want to actively grow their rankings over time.
What industries do you work with?
Any small business in South Florida whose website should be doing more work. We have particular experience building sites for service businesses like plumbers, contractors, restaurants, and medical offices where the website is a direct lead source.
